How the numbers are calculated
Finished inches = stitches ÷ (fabric count ÷ threads per stitch). Aida uses 1 thread. Evenweave and linen use 2.
Cut size adds 3 inches on the left, right, top, and bottom.

Skein estimate uses an 8 meter, 6-strand DMC skein. Each stitch is about 3.9 diagonals of thread plus 20% waste. On 14-count Aida with 2 strands, about 2,000 stitches is one skein. That is a planning rule, not a count from a published chart.
