Compare cross stitch pattern tools

People looking for a Stitch Fiddle alternative, or comparing PCStitch, WinStitch, and browser editors, are usually checking the same jobs: turn a photo into a chart, edit stitches, and print. This page states what Cross Stitch Pattern Creator does. It does not publish another product’s price, user counts, or quality scores.

This editor

  • Runs in the browser. There is no app to install.
  • Photo conversion, editing, color PNG, and symbol PNG are free. The symbol PNG has no floss table.
  • A printable PDF for one pattern is $5.99. Later edits of that pattern can export again. There is no lifetime plan.
  • Charts are saved in this browser, with JSON and OXS export as backups. They are not stored in an account in the cloud.
  • Colors come from a 454 color DMC list used by the matcher. The page does not claim an official or complete DMC catalog.
  • PDF pages use symbol charts, 10-stitch blocks, and a floss table. Pattern Keeper import has not been tested on a device.
  • You own the charts you create. You may sell the chart and sell finished pieces you stitch from it. See the terms for the exact license.
  • Half stitches, backstitch, and needlepoint are not in this version.

What to check elsewhere

Desktop software such as PCStitch or WinStitch is installed on a computer and often keeps its own file format. Other browser tools may limit how many charts you can save, charge for PNG as well as PDF, or require an account before you edit. Before you switch, confirm the current price on that site, whether your old files import, and whether any “Pattern Keeper” claim has been tried on your phone.
