Why this site exists
A cross stitch pattern is weeks of someone's evenings. Every stitch on the chart becomes a stitch in the hoop, so the chart has to be right: eyes that still look like eyes, colors you can actually buy, pages that do not lose your place at the join. This site exists to make that kind of chart from your own photos, and to show you exactly what you will get before you pay for anything.
How your photo becomes a pattern, without AI
The converter is not an AI model. It does not guess, repaint or invent details that were never in your photo. Each stitch comes from the part of the photo it covers, every color is matched to one of 489 real DMC floss colors, and stray single stitches are cleaned up by rules you can turn down or off. It all runs in your browser, so your photo is never uploaded, and never used to train anything.
One thing to be clear about: the photos on our page cards are illustrations made with an image generator. The converter, the patterns and the PDFs use no AI.
How we work
- Nothing is claimed until it has been tried. The PDFs were opened in Pattern Keeper on an Android tablet before we said they work there.
- Floss amounts come from the stitch count of each color in your pattern, not a guess from its size.
- Prices and limits are stated up front: patterns up to 60 × 60 stitches print free, a larger one is $3.99 once, and there are no subscriptions. The full details are on pricing.
- When something is wrong, it gets fixed and written down in the changelog.
What stays on your device
Your photo and your chart stay in this browser until you download a file. Buying a PDF stores only the email address, the pattern id and the payment record needed to send it to you again. Sign-in is optional. The privacy page writes this down in full.
Who looks after it
One person builds this site and reads every email sent to support@crossstitchpatterncreator.com. Questions, ideas and refund requests all go to that same inbox, listed on the contact page. Half stitches, backstitch and needlepoint are not in this version yet.
